Albert Einstein once said, “We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.” So when demands to resolve potential network issues are steadily escalating while budgets are getting tighter and tighter, it is time to get creative and try something new. Like, for example, the renewed Extreme Intuitive Insights 2.0!
When it comes to troubleshooting, there’s only so much that can be done with a narrow budget, constrained staff and, maybe most importantly, limited network visibility. Sometimes it’s really hard to tell whether it’s a network issue or a device issue. After all, who can afford to send a team member out into the field for every incident, right?
That’s why last year we introduced Extreme Intuitive Insights which combines device, network, and application performance data into a simple, cloud-based application for device management and troubleshooting. With this solution in hand, companies and organizations can instantly monitor, identify, isolate, and remediate issues that could impact Wi-Fi connectivity, roaming, application and voice performance.
The recently introduced Extreme Intuitive Insights 2.0 is capitalizing on those features while offering even more interesting new ones. Let’s have a quick rundown of the five most important enhancements!
Enjoy a fine-tuned dashboard
One of the core tenets of our Infinite Enterprise concept is building consumer-centric experiences. To stay true to our beliefs, instead of using less effective spreadsheets and lists, we’ve created widgets and visual alerts to make it easier to see where an issue with the device or the network might be. 📌
Know more about the devices connected to your network
Most troubleshooting applications only have IP or MAC Addresses for all the connected devices – which makes quick identification as efficient as finding a needle in a haystack. In this release, we’ve added more fine-grain identifiers, like device model, physical location, battery life, software details, and NTP state, for you to read the “troublemaker” like a book! 📖
Look at the device with a magnifying glass
Extreme Intuitive Insights 2.0 allows you to drill down even further to see what’s going on at an individual device level to diagnose if the issue could be a Wi-Fi Link, roaming, latency or VoIP link quality issue. 🔍
Search and rescue
Ever have those days when users on the ground are complaining about an issue and asking for localized support, but you don’t know where they are in your warehouse, office, or retail store? With our Events page, you can see not only what happened, but also where the device is to help you with issue resolution. 🗺
Access both network and device data
Within the Extreme Intuitive Insights 2.0 release, you can see Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) data from BOTH the network and device perspective. As a networking administrator, you would typically only be able to claim that the network was live and connected to a device. Now you can match that network data to the device RSSI.
