ExtremeCloud IQ customers
We can’t stress that enough: with ExtremeCloud IQ – Site Engine in place, you can manage and monitor the equipment of any vendor (as long as said device support telnet or SSH and SNMP protocol). To enhance and facilitate managing third party devices, our dashboard will show you their topology and discovery, providing a centralized view with visibility to your complete network, wired and wireless, edge to the data center, homogenous or multi-vendor. The information is gathered and presented to you in a consistent way that you know very well from ExtremeCloud IQ.
SNMP network monitoring
To that end, ExtremeCloud IQ – Site Engine uses SNMP, a highly-proven and powerful protocol for collecting and organizing information about managed devices on IP networks and for modifying that information to change device behavior. XIQ – SE utilizes the standard to greatly simplify network troubleshooting and monitoring. There’s just so much information available in the network equipment through SNMP!
Application and analytics
Oh, and speaking about troubleshooting. ExtremeAnalytics for ExtremeCloud IQ – Site Engine speeds it up significantly by separating network from application performance. Application Analytics gives you full visibility into the traffic passing through your network – you will know what applications are running on your network, who is using them, and what is their response time. The solution monitors shadow IT, identifies and reports malicious or unwanted applications, and helps with security compliance. ExtremeAnalytics Analytics Engine also extends application visibility from physical to virtual environments, eliminating virtualization ‘blind spots’. With deep packet inspection, you can see and analyze network-traffic across multiple layers for real-time accurate information analysis.
Automation and workflows
The XIQ SE provides you with an intuitive graphical way to easily automate network tasks. The workflow can be triggered by any event, like threshold reached, syslog message or even the user action or external API call. The workflow can reconfigure the network or interact with third party solutions. For example, if the reboot of the device is detected, the technical logs and details can be gathered and created by the workflow itself. If a high CPU utilization is defective, then the workflow can automatically gather additional information about the running processes. The XIQ SE can change a 3:00 AM wake up call to 10:00 AM follow-up.
Universal licensing
Both ExtremeCloud IQ and ExtremeCloud IQ – Site Engine use the very same licensing model. We do not charge you twice. One device is one license, clean and simple. And if that wasn’t cool enough, XIQ – SE supports new universal Network Access Control licensing model, where you can choose the right NAC engine based on features, as the license model is now universal!

Extreme Management Center customers
ExtremeCloud IQ – Site Engine is the evolution of Extreme Management Center. All of the features the XMC provides to you today are available in XIQ – SE, including analytics, access control, fabric manager, guest and IOT manager. You can think of ExtremeCloud IQ – Site Engine as a rebranded version of Extreme Management Center with lots of additional functionalities and bug fixes and a new subscription model.
NMS advanced features
We’ve already covered centralized view and universal NAC licensing. Those benefits are valid for Extreme Management Center customers too. What’s more, if you decide to transition to ExtremeCloud IQ – Site Engine, all NMS advanced features will be unlocked automatically. That means workflows, APIs, reporting, connect module, fabric configuration, and many more. Pretty neat, huh?
Unlimited data horizon
The device statistics and board utilization statistics are shared from ExtremeCloud IQ – Site Engine to ExtremeCloud IQ. In the latter case, you can count on the unlimited data horizon, meaning that you will have the statistics available there as long as you need - or want them. And you do not need to provide a huge storage for those data in your local XIQ SE!
Linear license scheme
The subscription licensing model does not have any barriers. The model is linear – we are simplifying the licensing and allowing you to adapt to your business needs. What’s more, Application Analytics is not limited in the XIQ SE. If you need to analyze more flows or more end systems, just add resources. There is no additional cost for you!
