A data center can have different shapes and designs. Sometimes it is a medium-sized cabinet-like device, typically used by small businesses. At other times, it is a wardrobe-sized room or even a whole building with multiple rows of high-capacity cabinets and densely arranged servers. In the next webinar, together with Piotr Kędra, you will take a look at the Extreme Dataset wardrobe, where you will find network solutions tailored to your needs!
Data centers comprise hardware, software and automation systems. By watching the webinar dedicated to Extreme Data Center Solutions you will get to know them all! A bit like a tailor, we can complete a whole suit of solutions. Owing to the combined forces of Extreme Networks, Brocade and AVAYA, we offer a set of matching elements:
- Automated Campus – use of SPB protocols to build WANs
- Smart OmniEdge – all wire and wireless access
- Agile Data Center – enables automation of daily operations between domains in the data center. This approach allows employees to focus on innovation without having to deal with problem solving.
Extreme Data Center – a fully-tailored solution!
Each client is special for us – after all, a Data Center is a place where the most important data of the company are safely stored. Looking into our technology wardrobe, we select solutions that ensure the highest possible security, bandwidth, and high reliability.
Regardless of the size of the Data Center, we’d like to pay your attention to very practical (and always fashionable, regardless of the season! J) solutions from the VDX product family. When you connect several VDX switches in a certain way, you will build a structure called a VCS cluster. It is a very simple solution where you get only one management IP and one configuration file for up to 48 connected switches. You manage a single switch, but in fact it can be distributed across the entire Data Center structure. Convenient, isnt’ it?
Insight Architecture
In webinar, we also talk about one of the last "crazes" in the field of data centers, that is Insight Architecture. As part of such architecture, the operating system of the device is not installed directly on the management module – it runs a Linux system with virtualization based on a KVM environment. It is only on a virtual machine that the operating system of the device itself runs. Using powerful processors from the Intel Xeon family allows you to allocate part of the computing resources to work with the operating system, and the virtual machine (Guest VM) can run an additional virtual machine (as it is in the SLX family).
The Control Path between a VM and a processor is a socket TCP connection. With a system like this, each switch may feature a server, for example equipped with 2 cores, 8 GB RAM, and from 40 to 120 GB SSD. A dedicated 10 GB link between the Guest VM and the processor can be run on the guest machine. The Analytics Path is an additional communication path – it is completely independent of the Control Path (one does not interfere with the other in any way). This allows you to see what traffic is flowing through your network device.
Why you should listen to our webinar?
As part of the Extreme Data Center Solutions webinar, we discuss the following topics: L2 networks – VCS, SLX family – switches and routers, SLX architecture (Insight Architecture), IP network architecture, IP network sharing – EFA (Embedded Fabric Automation), XMC and Workflow Composer – managementt history and Roadmap update.
