I’ve worked on different positions in distribution and got a lot of experience on how the partners are actually thinking and what they are expecting from a vendor. Now I have a chance to help partners develop their business with us, being their supporter inside Extreme organization. We are operating on a very competitive market where the actual products are not the only thing that matters. The people and human relations between them play a major role too.
You’re walking into a bar full of your current, but also potential partners. Everyone seems to be having a great time. What’s the first thing that you do?
Say “hi” to everybody and order beers! I’d ask them how they are doing and what can we do together. You can help your partners only if you are well aware of their current thoughts and actual projects. That’s why you should always ask questions and listen.
